San Diego, CA – The 41st annual Chicano Park Day celebration will be Saturday, April 23rd 2011. The celebration will be held in the historic area of Barrio Logan; under the Coronado Bridge.
Chicano Park is the home to numerous mural paintings that represent past and present struggles of Mexican and Chicano history. The park is over 7 acres and is not only a place for mexican and chicano art… But also holds years of history.
In additional to murals; Chicano Park Day will also be filled with more than 250 classic low-rider cars showed by Amigos Car Club. Food, as well as arts and crafts will be sold throughout the park.
Visitors can take interstate 5 and take the Cesar Chavez Parkway exit to attend the event. Due to limited parking, trolley service is highly recommend for this event.
